The Project

The primary goal of the project was for this national retail chain to comply with the State of California’s Full Trash Capture requirements. By achieving this, they aimed to:

  • Ensure environmental compliance
  • Complete the construction of new building structures on the schedule
  • Obtain the necessary final building permit from the City of Dublin

Project Scope and Solution

The project involved the delivery and installation of LittaTrap™ devices, which are designed to capture trash, debris, large sediment particles, and gross pollutants from stormwater runoff. The specific installation requirements included:

38 Grate Catch Basins

1 Manhole Catch Basin

A custom stormwater improvement solution was proposed to the contractor, AQUALIS, using stainless steel flanges to ensure compatibility and durability. Custom solutions can be provided based on specific requirements. EnviroPod collaborated with AQUALIS, who manages the stormwater requirements for this nationwide retail chain, to deliver a successful outcome.

Project Challenges

One of the most significant challenges faced by the contractor was adhering to a tight construction deadline. The store needed to ensure that the installation of the required devices was completed within 20 working days to avoid delays in their construction schedule and subsequent opening plans.

The EnviroPod™ team , were able to deliver both standard and custom parts to the installation team promptly and cost-effectively. Despite the tight timeline, the project was completed on time and within budget, successfully meeting all regulatory requirements.
